Behind the lens

Steve Etherington started his professional career in 1977. He attended Richmond College in Sheffield attaining the NCTJ award in press photography.

After working on weekly and provincial evening newspapers he spent eleven years as a senior photographer with a specialist sports agency covering all major sporting events worldwide before turning freelance in 1997 to specialize in photographing Formula One.

During his career he has gained many awards including winner of the Sports Photographer of the Year Specialist Portfolio and a winner in the prestigious Sasakawa World Sports Photo Contest.
